Château La Mission Haut-Brion has been part of Domaine Clarence Dillon since 1983, when it was brought under the same ownership as Château Haut-Brion, uniting two of Bordeaux's most iconic estates.

Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion won the GOLD Medal at the International Exhibition in London in 1862.

The name La Mission comes from the fact that in the 1664 onwards this winery was was managed by the Congregation of the Mission, a Catholic order founded by Saint Vincent de Paul, also known as the Lazarists.

The historical connection to the Church and its "mission" gives the estate its unique and storied identity, setting it apart as one of the few Bordeaux estates with a name reflecting its religious past.

Deep garnet core with a brick-tinged rim, reflecting its maturity. Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum are enhanced by cedar, tobacco, graphite, and hints of truffle and smoky spices. The medium to full-bodied palate features fine tannins, vibrant acidity, and layered flavors of cassis, cherry, and dark chocolate, finishing long with smoky, mineral notes.

Pairs wonderfully with roast lamb, grilled venison, duck with berry glaze, braised short ribs, mushroom risotto, or truffle dishes. It also complements aged cheeses like Comté, Gruyère, and Manchego.
