Ratings: 4.3 on VIVINO

Established in 1971 in Victoria's Yarra Valley, Mount Mary is an iconic, family-owned single-vineyard estate credited with pioneering the region's modern viticultural resurgence.

The estate's flagship bottling, the 2015 Quintet, is a classic Bordeaux-style blend composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot.

Exhibiting the supreme restraint, structural power, and pristine fruit profile characteristic of an exceptional Yarra Valley vintage, this wine reflects meticulous estate winemaking.

Maturation spans 22 months in oak, featuring 25% in large-format vessels (1500L+) to preserve fresh aromatics, 30% in new barriques for refined texture, and the remainder in seasoned barriques.

The result is a medium-bodied masterclass in balance, offering vibrant dark berry nuances, fine-grained tannic persistence, and bright natural acidity.

This investment-grade red showcases extraordinary cellaring longevity, capable of gracefully evolving over several decades while reflecting the refined elegance and cool-climate terroir of single-vineyard Yarra Valley viticulture.
