Domaine Gérard Peirazeau & Fils is a rising star in Burgundy, highly regarded by insiders for its exceptional wine quality and historical pedigree.

While flying under the radar globally due to a long-standing tradition of selling primarily to private clients, the estate has recently gained significant traction under new leadership and is now considered a sought-after hidden gem.

The estate’s history is inextricably linked to the iconic Jules Groffier (1898–1974), who founded the family vineyards. In the 1950s, Jules split his estate between his children, Robert Groffier and Bernadette Groffier.

Bernadette married into the Peirazeau family, and her son, Gérard Peirazeau, ran the domain for years, selling most grapes to négociants and private French buyers.

In 2019, Gérard's son, Laurent Peirazeau, took the reins alongside his partner, Sophie Charlopin (from the legendary Philippe Charlopin winemaking family).

They revamped the estate, started estate-bottling under the Gérard Peirazeau & Fils label, and opened their doors to international markets.

The Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru vineyard spans the border of Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis, where the Peirazeau family's four-generation parcels boast deep-rooted old vines.

Laurent and Sophie employ sustainable vineyard practices and low-intervention, traditional winemaking using indigenous yeasts and precise temperature control.
