Antinori Tignanello is a pioneer and a revolutionary wine, as it was the first to use barriques (small French oak barrels) for aging Sangiovese.
It was also the first to blend Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon, to make a wonderful wine that would come to be known as Super Tuscan.
In case you did not know, the label was designed by Silvio Coppola in 1974 for the release of Tignanello 1971.
Antinori Family has been making wines for 600 years, since 1385.
Aged for 15 months in Oak barrels.
This wine is made only in good vintages. So it was not produced in 1972, 1973,1974, 1976, 1984, 1992,and 2002.
