The Chateau was founded in 1970 by Jean-Eugène Borie, a renowned figure in Bordeaux winemaking, who also owns the grandeur Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou.
As of the 2019 vintage, Château Lalande-Borie was rebranded as "Le Petit Ducru." This change reflects a strategic decision by the Borie family to align the property more closely with Château Ducru-Beaucaillou.
So therefore from the 2019 vintage, this wine will be called Le Petit Ducru, which makes perfect sense as the wine is like a second wine when compared to Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou.
You will find vibrant aromas of blackcurrant, plum, cedar, and hints of vanilla. The palate is refined and well-balanced, featuring silky tannins, ripe dark fruits, subtle spices, and a touch of oak, with a long, elegant finish.
It would pair pair beautifully with grilled lamb chops, roast duck, beef tenderloin, aged cheddar, or hearty vegetarian dishes like mushroom risotto and ratatouille, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of meals.
