Sous le Château is one of the Climats in the village of Saint-Romain.
It is located under the rocky outcrop which served as a Merovingian necropolis in the 4th century.
The vineyard is on steep slope which is beneficial for better ripening.
Climats means that is a specific plot of vines which is recognized historically for its unique terroir characteristics, and usually produce a higher quality grapes, which is why they are usually made into a single climat wines (or you can say single vineyard wines).
Aged in oak barrels for about 8 months.
